Bilborough Town FC were formed in 2007 when, after previously running Vernon Villa 2nd and 3rd teams, father and son, Colin and Steve Lee, created the club, and were helped with this by Richard Farrell, competing in the MAA Premier Division.
The following season, the team were entered into the Nottinghamshire Senior League 2nd Division where they had a poor first season upon which Steve invited Winston Blackwood and his wife Claudia to come onboard, and Town’s ambitions would improve after gaining promotion the following season.
Alongside the senior team, there was an Under 16 team formed, who performed well in their first season. The 2011/12 season would also be a good one as managers Steve and Winston recruited an old friend in Andy Lord, who had a lot of local footballing contacts and was previously with both of the managers when he was younger. Andy went on to play at a higher standard and his coaching and knowledge made Town a more professional team.
After four years of hard work, Town now have a place to call home as they move to Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Bilborough, and this represents a huge step for the club as we look to finally lay down some roots with a pitch and facilities which will be hard to beat locally.
Danny Morgan and Jason Cross were added to to the backroom staff for the 2016/17 season, and the new management team saw Bilborough record their highest ever league finish of 4th.
