Cottesmore AFC 0 - 8 Bilborough Town

Kane (5, 20) Croft (31, 41) Law (55, 70) Scott-Parkin (60 pen., 78)

Town comfortably saw off Leicestershire Senior League counterparts, Cottesmore AFC, on Saturday with youngster, Scott-Parkin, getting his first goals for the senior team. With six players under the age of 18, there was a lot of chopping and changing for Town throughout the game but it was the more established senior players that set the mould. Straight out of the blocks, Law slotted Kane through after dispossessing the Cottesmore centre-half and Kane duly despatched to quickly put Town ahead. Kane then doubled the lead when, after a smart move down the left from Stewart and Law, Cross chipped the ball over the oncoming 'keeper for Kane to knock in from two yards out. The ruthlessness of Town's attack didn't stop there. Croft quickly bagged himself a brace, with both assists coming from Cross on the right wing, after giving the Cottesmore left-back a torrid time. The Town defence was never particularly threatened in the first half, and with Nicholson filling it at right-back, they spent most of the half playing three at the back with Jackson, Hayes and Battison holding the forte. Cottesmore did nearly grab a goal late in the first-half, though, when a misplaced pass from Jackson allowed the Cottesmore striker room to shoot from just inside the box, only to see his shot trickle wide of the post. HT 4-0 With the game all but sewn up, Town introduced a raft of youngsters onto the pitch which brought the average age of the team down to a new record-low of just 20 years-old and included a debut for Liam Lee in goal, aged just 16 years-old.

Law was running the show and was giving Town the chance to play out from the back and through the midfield. He got his rewards when he latched onto two Stewart through-balls to bag a brace and make it 6 for Town without reply.

16-year-old, James Scott-Parkin, had the chance to grab his first goal for the club when a clearance from the impressive Barnes left him one-on-one, but he could only look on in despair as he lashed his half-volley wide from the edge of the box. With Barnes and Lord injecting more pace into the wings, two minutes later, Law was put through by Barnes and danced his way through the home side's defence before being hacked down, giving the referee no choice but to award a penalty. To try and make up for his earlier miss, Law handed the ball to Scott-Parkin who drilled the ball down the middle to grab his first goal for the senior side. With more chopping and changing, Cottesmore almost grabbed themselves a consolation goal in a rare glimpse at goal when a looping ball from the wing beat Lee, only to be smashed against the post from less than two yards out. After his penalty, Scott-Parkin appeared to gain confidence and grabbed his 2nd goal when Cumberland slotted him in. He managed to hold off the Cottesmore defender and laced the ball into the top corner, giving the 'keeper no chance and to round off a comprehensive victory. FT 8-0
